The Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre is a vital community facility supporting a wide range of users, including YMCA programs, FIFO workers, families, and rehabilitation services. Located in one of Australia’s most remote and climate-exposed regions, the centre has relied on EvoHeat technology since 2011 to efficiently heat its aquatic facilities.
In 2024, the centre underwent a major heating upgrade to further improve performance and reduce environmental impact. Working with our installation partners at Image Air Conditioning, the old system was replaced with five new EvoHeat CS-i 65 commercial inverter heat pumps, servicing the 50-metre outdoor pool, 25-metre indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, and water playground.
The upgrade was completed in just four days, with the hydrotherapy pool back in operation on the same day the new equipment was installed — ensuring minimal disruption to the facility and its users.
The new CS-i units deliver consistent and precise temperature control across all pool areas, while significantly reducing running costs. As a result of the upgrade, the centre achieved a 27.4% reduction in CO₂ emissions, supporting its goal of improving sustainability, operational efficiency, and community wellbeing.
EvoHeat is proud to continue supporting Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre with energy-efficient, reliable heating solutions more than a decade on.
The EvoHeat units installed at the Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre in 2011 have consistently delivered reliable performance. Although still functional, they have now been replaced with the new EvoHeat CS-I 65 commercial inverter heat pumps, offering improved energy efficiency and reliability. These advanced units adjust precisely to heating needs, ensuring optimal temperatures, reducing operating costs and carbon footprint, and enhancing the overall swimming experience.
